UM holds opening ceremony for DBA and EMBA programmes

The Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) of the University of Macau (UM) held an opening ceremony for the 2024/2025 intake of the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) and Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) programmes. The two programmes have admitted a total of more than 60 business elites from different places this year.
During the ceremony, Yonghua Song, rector of UM, highlighted UM’s pivotal role in the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and encouraged students to adopt an open-minded approach to their studies, broaden their global perspective, and enhance their academic and managerial capabilities. Yu Jun, dean of FBA, introduced the strengths of the faculty and the features of the DBA and EMBA programmes, and emphasised the importance of lifelong learning. In addition, the programme directors of the two programmes, as well as representatives of graduates and new students, introduced the programme curricula, and shared their learning experiences and perspectives on the programmes, respectively.

DBA Student Sharing: Mr. Feng JING

Mr. Feng JING was admitted to the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Programme of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at the University of Macau (UM) in 2023. He is currently the Vice President and Hangzhou Branch President of China Zheshang Bank. He chose to study the DBA Programme at the University of Macau because he believes that through academic study, he can broaden his knowledge and deepen his understanding of how to apply financial theory to real-world practice. His goal is to use his education to further develop his problem-solving abilities and continue contributing to the high-quality development of the finance industry.

DBA Student Sharing: Mr. Yunhai BAI

Mr. Yunhai BAI was admitted to the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Programme of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at the University of Macau (UM) in 2022. He is currently the Vice President of National Channel Development at Beijing Tong Ren Tang Chinese Medicine Company Limited, a renowned traditional Chinese medicine company. He believes that the ability to learn will be the most crucial skill for future business leaders. Pursuing a doctoral degree has been his lifelong dream. He chose to study the DBA programme at the University of Macau because of its mix of challenges and opportunities. During his DBA studies, he has met many knowledgeable and friendly professors, and the interactions between students and faculty have been very positive.

Mr. Chen Huang was admitted to the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Programme of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at the University of Macau (UM) in 2023. He is currently the Chairman of “上海吉晨衛生後勤服務管理有限公司”. In this rapidly changing era, he has chosen to pursue a DBA degree programme at the University of Macau in order to further enhance himself. The programme not only focuses on cultivating DBA students’ systematic understanding of the cutting-edge theories in business management, but also arranges for them to engage in dialogues with global business elites and renowned scholars, enabling the students to integrate the knowledge and master the skills needed to succeed through these intellectual exchanges during the programme.

DBA Student Sharing: Mr. Tingfang WU

Mr. Tingfang WU was admitted to the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Programme of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) of the University of Macau (UM) in 2022. He currently serves as the Vice President of the “貴州省房地產交易市場” and “貴州省安居社會公租房中心有限公司”. He is the oldest doctoral student to be admitted into the DBA program to date. Despite his advanced age by the time he finishes his degree, Wu believes the purpose of life is to keep contributing to society. He is determined to keep learning and improving himself to achieve this goal. His unwavering commitment to lifelong learning and making a positive impact is truly inspiring.
